LookAhead

Financial visibility beyond the current bank balance

The Problem

Most budgeting tools explain where money went.

LookAhead was designed to answer a different question:

“What is coming, and what is genuinely safe to spend?”

People often know their current account balance but cannot clearly see how upcoming bills, recurring income, spending, and savings decisions affect the next several weeks.

This creates Financial Fog and forces people to make decisions without a complete picture.

The Solution

LookAhead provides a day-by-day financial forecast that helps users understand upcoming cash flow before making spending decisions.

Core Features

  • 180-day financial timeline
  • Safe to Spend calculation
  • Recurring transactions
  • Income and expense forecasting
  • Piggy Banks and savings goals
  • Secure private user accounts
  • Mobile-responsive interface

Product Approach

The application was designed around clarity rather than traditional budgeting complexity.

The objective is not simply to categorize past spending. It is to give users a practical view of what lies ahead.

  • Next.js

Time and Attendance Application

In Development

A configurable time-and-attendance system designed to help businesses track employee hours, manage exceptions, review timesheets, and prepare accurate payroll information.

The Problem

Businesses often rely on paper timecards, spreadsheets, basic punch clocks, or payroll systems that do not match their actual attendance policies and approval process.

These workarounds can create missing punches, manual calculations, unclear approval responsibility, and payroll corrections.

The Solution

The application provides a structured workflow for recording employee time, reviewing exceptions, approving timecards, and preparing payroll information.

Product Approach

The system is being designed around the way supervisors, employees, payroll administrators, and business managers actually interact with attendance information.

The objective is not merely to record a timestamp.

The objective is to provide accurate records, clear accountability, and a dependable path from employee punch to payroll preparation.

Development Status

Complete

  • Authentication, organization/member model, and role-based permissions
  • Employee clock in/out from a personal device
  • Kiosk PIN mode for shared devices (rate-limited, PINs stored hashed)
  • Self-serve organization setup and staff invite links
  • Admin panel for managing locations, staff, and invites
  • Manager-built schedules with a week-by-week staff view
  • Weekly timesheet rollups with overtime flagging (over 40 hrs/week)
  • Manager timesheet approval
  • PTO requests and approval, with manually-set starting balances
  • CSV export of approved timesheets

In Progress

  • A manager interface for correcting individual time entries (the audit-trail columns exist in the database; today a correction means editing the record directly and having the employee resubmit)

Planned

  • Badge or RFID hardware support
  • Direct payroll-provider integration
  • Automatic PTO accrual over time
  • Subdomain-per-organization branding
